Essential Tips on How to Get Ready for Breast Enlargement Surgery Consultation

If you are thinking about getting your bust done through cosmetic procedures, the first important step is to prepare yourself by scheduling a breast enlargement surgery consultation.
This preliminary check-up aims to:

• Gather information about the expectations of the patient regarding the breast augmentation she is about to undergo

• Allows the surgeon to explain important information regarding the procedure.

A patient must be very honest and clear regarding her objectives on why breast enlargement surgery is necessary for her. The objectives will actually vary from person to person depending on the patient’s body build, the type of clothing she wants to wear after the surgery, and of course the physical result that the patient is wishing to achieve after the bust augmentation.

Some clinics assign a medical receptionist or patient coordinator to do the surgery consultation but it is recommended that the patient talks directly with the doctor who will administer the surgery for her. This will build a rapport between the surgeon and patient wherein both parties are able to fully understand each other’s goals:

• For the patient’s part, she can fully explain to her doctor the result she really wants to get.

• The surgeon can determine what would be the ideal kind of breast augmentation for the patient, such as the shape of the implant that will be used, the muscle location where the silicone will be implanted and whether other medical procedures are required like breast uplift.

The patients are encouraged to list down any questions or confusions that they want their doctors to clarify. This will guarantee that any doubts in the patient’s mind are addressed properly before she undergoes the breast augmentation procedure. Moreover, during the breast enlargement surgery consultation, bringing example photos of the bust size or shape the patient wishes to obtain will be very helpful for the surgeons since it will give them a clearer view of what their patients really want to achieve.

The cosmetic surgeon will thoroughly discuss the pros and cons of the breast augmentation including the kind of procedure that will be administered to the patient. Most of the time, the doctor will show pictures of previous breast surgeries they have done so patients are aware of the outcomes they will be getting. In case you are one of those individuals wanting to get breast augmentation, never hesitate to ask your surgeon the number of successful surgeries they have completed and the common problems encountered by their patients post-surgery.

Lastly, patients will be asked to try on different sizes and shapes of breast implants at their Breast Enlargement Surgery Consultation which will help determine the suitability of the silicone implants to the patient’s physique. Not all bust implants have the same height and width so being able to try some of them before surgery is an advantage. Look for a cosmetic clinic that offers breast sizing appointments as part of their breast enlargement surgery consultation so you are guaranteed to get amazing and successful results with your breast augmentation.

What Should A PR Consultant Cost?

When considering retaining the services of a public relations consultant, a major issue is always how much will their services cost? Good question. As someone who has spent a few decades as a PR consultant, allow me to offer some clarity.

The first question to ask yourself is whether retaining a PR will be cost effective for your particular need. A consultant is someone who can offer very specific expertise in a business endeavor when needed and put on hiatus when not needed. So right off the bat, the costs for managing a consultant are much more cost-effective than in-house staff as you are able to utilize their services only when needed.

In the PR business, there are typically three billing protocols: monthly retainer, hourly rate and project basis. Here is an explanation of each:

Monthly retainer: The PR consultancy will charge a fee for a certain number of hours worked during a specific month. Some PR firms will have a stipulation in their contract that if they work more hours than agreed, they will charge an hourly rate for the additional hours worked. Some won’t within reason. While it is possible, I have never heard of a situation where if a PR firm works fewer hours, they credit the client those hours for the next month. PR firms always seem to find a way to use all the hours they are being paid for.

As stated above, the monthly retainer is based on projected number of hours to be worked during the month. If a number of people in a PR firm are involved, they usually have different hourly rates so the formula is number of hours X billing rates of each consultant all added up. For a small project, a monthly retainer could be $1,500 a month. For a large, national PR campaign, the monthly retainer could be $50,000. Again it is all based on time.

Hourly Rate: More and more PR firms are working on hourly rates, much like attorneys. This is easy to understand. The person doing the work has an hourly billing rate and at the end of the month all the hours are added up and multiplied together. Usually a cap can be put on the number of hours worked so it doesn’t get out of hand. But if a client is not on top of hours worked, they could be in for billing shock. What are hourly rates for PR consultants? They can range from $75 an hour for a junior-level account rep to $800 or more per hour for a senior PR executive.

Project Basis: A project basis is when the client has a finite activity that they need promoted. A special event is the best example. There is a start date and an ending date. The PR firm will look at the work involved in promoting the event and come up with a price, again, dependent on the number of collective hours worked. What can promoting a special event cost? I’ve seen PR services for special events range from a $2,000 fee for a small, community-based event to $100,000 for a major, media intensive event.

In my experience, clients get the most bang for their buck with a monthly retainer. First, they know pretty much how much they will be spending each month so they can best budget their PR services. Second, PR firms usually don’t charge for extra hours worked so a client typically gets more hours than they are paying for. Also, part of the PR business is exploring opportunities and possibilities that sometimes don’t pan out. PR firms are often reluctant to bill for this type of exploratory work, but if working hourly, they have to.

Do Legal Nurse Consultants and Paralegals Understand Each Other?

Research showed some surprising information about the functions of legal nurse consultants (LNCs) and paralegals. Legal nurse consultants assist the legal team by using their nursing knowledge of the healthcare system. They may testify as expert witnesses, summarize medical records as consultants, locate expert witnesses, calculate costs of future medical care, and perform a whole host of other services. Paralegals have completed a course of study, and may work on medical cases. They act as assistants to the attorney by handling some of the legal procedures.

Data was collected from paralegals, LNCs, and attorneys in order to define the most common activities performed by paralegals and LNCs. The 76 paralegals ranged from students to those with 19 years of experience. |

The 27 LNCs had 0-9 years of experience. The perceptions of 16 attorneys who had 1-29 years of experience were also elicited.

Each person was asked to review a list of functions and indicate if each function was an activity which a paralegal or LNC (or both) could perform.

Despite wide differences in experience and perspectives, a consensus emerged among all of the groups. The most commonly identified legal nurse consultant activities were:

1. Identify medical management issues
2. Identify medical issues not addressed or explained in the records
3. Identify malingerers
4. Point out potential medical complications of injuries
5. Identify medical malpractice

The most common activities attributed to the role of the paralegal were:

1. Obtain medical records
2. Identify costs causally related to the accident
3. Organize medical records
4. Summarize medical records
5. Identify missing records

Paralegals were more easily able to identify functions of their own profession than they were able to define the role of the legal nurse consultant, and vice versa. Experienced paralegals and the attorneys identified more functions of the LNC than did less experienced paralegals. One of the conclusions of this data was that rather than being in competition with each other, LNC and paralegals perform important functions that complement each other. For example, analysis of key medical issues by a LNC cannot occur without the appropriate retrieval and organization of medical records by a paralegal. The identification of costs associated with an injury can be competently performed by a paralegal, allowing the legal nurse consultant to use medical expertise to focus on the clinical issues in the case.

LNCs and paralegals complement each other’s skills. As part of the legal team, they can work effectively together. The paralegal is best used for job responsibilities that draw on his or her legal background as an adjunct for the attorney. The LNC is best used for responsibilities that draw on the nurse’s expertise with medical issues.
